America No Longer Matters?

I'm reading the Economist article "America Drops, Asia Shops" in the recent issue I picked up at the newsstand (Borders in downtown Portland)  The first line that starts the article is very telling of things to come for America, "It is a commonplace

A Logical Notion

There are always poor and rich.Socialists merely act like they're fighting poverty by taking away from the rich.  The only functional result is that the poor remain and the rich become less rich.  In the end there is then less money to be had,
