So first, the negative point.

So the first thing I noticed was a 2 minute late arrival time into Vancouver, Washington.  With an estimated 10 minutes late into Vancouver.  That's just insane that an expectation can be made like that, it is really just negative that they must operate in such a way.  But I digress...

So now all the positives.

So I decided to swing over to Amtrak's Website to see the status of train #516 Amtrak Cascades from Portland to Seattle.  I'm specifically curious about the projected arrival time into Tacoma.  With that in mind I pulled up the website and input the particular stations and train number, even though it states OR between the choices I figured what the hoo haa it'll be better if I just leave nothing empty.  Theoretically it would use whatever provides the faster query speed that way.  Within the matter of about a half second the website whipped up the results and told me the arrival time.

That is the type of service I expect.  Quick, snappy, and to the point.  It's a simple thing to request, it is a simple thing to provide.  I'm proud in all honesty that Amtrak with it's decrepit business methods can provide the service that it can.  I'd have a lot of improvements that would rock the passenger train industry if I where in control of said company, but that is for another day.

So at this point with whistles blowing out on the tracks here in Tacoma I'll sit and wait patiently for what I will, am, and always hoping will be an on time arrival!  So cheers to train service in the north west and the convenience it provides, even when it is 10-30 minutes late.  Big Smile [:D]
