This morning provided an oddball opportunity that I had not thought of yet. Instead of walking like I usually do or taking the streetcar, I jumped on the #77 bus toward old town/china town. I had a book and basically I just wanted to sit down and start reading. Between the book and the reader board display a 24 minute wait until arrival time, I decided the #77 looked really good. I could get a little closer to work if I wanted to walk or I could grab a transfer to another bus to get into the downtown core.
Instead of the later option though, I realized, "hey, I could just take the MAX right to the front door of the office". The Yellow Line was the next one coming. All in all I did this and ended up getting into the office in about the same amount of time as if I'd taken the streetcar (pending one was getting there in 1-3 minutes) and I had to walk less.
It just goes to show, that sometimes the most obvious transit route isn't always the fastest.
