Team Foundation Server Workgroup take One

writely document

So my buddy Shannon Atkinson and I sat down over at his place and decided to take a solid whack at getting Team Foundation Server Workgroup setup and try to get a project started in it.  We have all sorts of kickin ideas so it's a good start.  Installation guide available for download.  A quick note about needing to install the Team Explorer to gain/receive Team Foundation Server functionality.

However, during the installation there where several errors.  After a quick grok of the old trusty google Shannon found quick solutions to both issues.  Mostly more of a RTFM than any particular real issue.

The first real error was a "Could not list of fields to localize from the database" which after a grok pulled up a quick answer over at the ToDotNet Blog.  The second problem came up with just some arbritrary error which again was groked and answers probided via Paul Hacker's Blog "Error 28100.Error loading Event web service".

Software Needed:
Sharepoint Services
SQL Server 2005

After installing these two products (we installed SQL Server 2005 Development Server since this is primarily an experiment) we headed down the path of the Foundation Server.  Everything went smooth after ironing out all these little bugs and finally we where able to test the product.  I connected once via wireless on my development platform and then an error was thrown referring that SQL Server Reporting Services had tossed an error.  So at this point we are headed back to the drawing board to figure out what is up.

More to come later...
